The Paradise of Kitesurfing and Windsurfing

Spot named Ponta do Santo Cristo is one of the windiest areas of the planet, thanks to a costant trade wind together with special thermic effects and due to its location on the “corner of the continent".

The beaches are immense and deserted with warm waters and constant breeze, the perfect setting for lovers of kitesurfing and windsurfing.

The marvelous bay shaped by the cape is the perfect scenario for what is considered to be one of the best all-round spots in Brazil’s northeast. The huge flat water area enables newcomers to learn beach- and water-starts easily, whilst a sandy reef with perfect rolling waves, approximately 600 meters from the coast, provides best fun to intermediate and advanced surfers.

Wind direction is E-SE, side-off shore starboard tack (wind from the right), averaging 18 to 25 knts. Most used sails are 4.7 – 5.3 and 7 to 11 kites.

From October to March north swells up to logo height (3 meters) happen to get in, creating gorgeous conditions for waveriding and jumping.

Only the rainy season of April, May and June lowers the average of windy days.

In July and August the wind can arrive from S-SE, off-shore in the bay and again side-shore upwind the cape, in Monte Alegre beach. Or you can get the transfer to Maracajau or Perobas, where during that periods wind can be better.

Are you sure you can handle the wind every day?
